Class 4

Welcome to Class 4. Our teacher is Mrs Forster and the teaching assistant who works with our class is Mrs Purkis

Our topic for the Summer  term is 'Coast'. We will study how coasts change over time due to erosion and deposition and focus on the Scilly Isles as a contrasting location  to landlocked Derbyshire! We will also be going on a 3 day residential trip to Lea Green and rehearsing for our school production in July.

Spellings are given out each Friday morning and children will be tested on those words the following Friday. Please make sure you have your spelling folder in school every Friday so you can record your weekly scores and collect your new lists.  Please also read make sure you read to an adult at home at least 3 times a week and ask the adult sign your reading record. Homework is given out on a Friday and is due in the following Wednesday. This will be a combination of online and paper based activities. If you are not able to do your homework, please come and see Mrs. Forster before the day it is due in.

Swimming for some Year 5 pupils is on a Tuesday morning. Please make sure you have a costume/trunks, a swimming hat, towel and goggles for this lesson. Years 5 and 6 have PE on a Wednesday afternoon (tennis) and on Friday afternoons (striking and fielding games / athletics). It is important that your full PE kit is in school at all times - as the weather is warming up now, a hat or cap and water bottle are also advisable. Suncream is available in school and children are encouraged to apply it before PE lessons outside.

We really enjoyed our RE day where we learned more about the Lord's Prayer and what it means. Have a look at the photos to see what we got up to.
