Class 1

Welcome to Class 1

In our class, we love to learn through active play and exploration both inside and out. We are lucky to have the support of Mrs Coe, our fantastic teaching assistant, she takes the class on a Tuesday afternoon.

Parental Support is very important and would love to hear from you if you are available to help in any way. We hope this page will give an insight into our busy class. The safety and happiness of your child is very important to us so please come and see us at any time if you have any questions or concerns - we're always happy to help.

Thank you for your continued support.

Summer  Term 2019

This term our topic is 'At the bottom of the garden'. This will include mini topics on the plants, growing, minibeasts, healthy living and recycling.    Reception children will now  focus on improving their reading and writing ability through daily practise and our Read Write Inc lessons. Children are encouraged to sound out words themselves and to write in full sentences. Maths will also continue to be important and children will begin complete addition and subtractions with numbers 1-20. Year 1s will be following the same curriculum as Class 2 and further topic planning for both Year 1 and Reception can be found below.

The following books will be used to enrich and structure literacy lesson for Reception children:

Developing Confident Writers

In order to help children develop their pencil grip, we have added some suggestions for activities at home. Please download the documents below. We recommend everyone does a 'Dough Disco' as often as possible!
