Happy New Year, Willows!
We hope you have all had a restful and fun Christmas holiday and are ready for our new term, and a new topic - Invaders and Settlers.
This is a history-based topic, but with strong links to geography, art, design & technology, music, literacy and reading, so will be an exciting and immersive topic for all of the children.
We will be reading 'Beowulf' by Michael Morpurgo and will be learning about Anglo-Saxon and Viking lore and legend through exploring a range of fantastic literature; both fiction and non-fiction.
In Science, we will be learning about electricity, its sources and sustainability, conductors and insulators and how to create a successful circuit, building on previous learning and extending this through use of switches and led bulbs.
This learning will help us to design and create light up signs in the second half of the term in Design & Technology.
Another fun and busy half term ahead!!
Please be prepared for your learning journey by making sure you have the following with you in school:
Class 3 have PE on Mondays and Fridays this term.
Homework and spellings will be set on Fridays.
Homework should be handed in by the following Thursday at the latest, and spellings will be tested on a Thursday morning.
