8.35: School gates open. A member of staff (usually Mrs Forster or Mr Devenport) will be there to greet children and take messages form parents. Infant children make their way around to the back playground and junior children meet on the front playground.
8.50am : The bell rings. Pupils go into school for registration. The gate closes and parents will have to ring the buzzer to gain access after this time.
8.55am: Lessons start - Reading and phonics
9.30 - 10.30 Lesson 1
10.30 - 10.45 Collective Worship
10.45 - 11.00 Break
11.00 - 12.00 Lesson 2
12.00 - 1.00 Lunch time
1.00 - 3.20 Afternoon lessons. Pupils in the infants have a 15 minute afternoon break .
3.15 Gate re-opens for parents to access school site for collection
3.20 Pupils finish school.
Total length of school day from 8.50 - 3.20 = 6 hours and 30 minutes.
This equates to 32 hours and 30 minutes per week.
