Class 4 - Oak

WELCOME TO OAK CLASS

Who's Who in Oak Class?

Teacher: Mrs Wright  (Miss Porter)

Teaching Assistant: Miss Hammond

Specialist Learning Support: Mr Durant

Important information:

  • Make sure you have a small, clear pencil case with a set of colouring pencils in. All other equipment will be provided by school.  Please do not bring in big pencil cases  as they do not fit in the trays underneath our tables. If the pencil case does not fit in the tray alongside all other learning equipment your child needs, your child will be asked to leave it at home.

  • Read at home at least 3    times a week and  get your    reading record signed    by an adult.   Bring your book and reading record into school everyday please.

  • Hand your homework in every week by Wednesday. If your child requires extra support with homework, please ask a member of staff in Oak Class before the Wednesday deadline.

  • Practise your weekly spellings ready for the spelling test on Friday.   Bring in your spelling folder so you can  file the next  spelling sheet  to keep it safe!

  • Ensure your PE kit is in school.  This term PE for Year 5 and Year 6 will be on a   Monday  with Mr Samuels. Year 5 will also have their swimming lessons from September 2025 until February half-term 2026.  School will communicate information about Year 5 Swimming via ParentHub.

  • If you would like your child to walk home or to a different location in the village, please fill in the form found below  and return to the class teacher. A new form will need to be filled out even if your child is in Year 6 and they had permission to walk home alone in Year 5. The form is attached below.

  • Please let the class teacher know if your child is going to be collected by a different adult to avoid delays at the end of the school day.  A phone call will  be made to the parent of the child if a different adult comes to collect your child. This will be done once the rest of the class have been dismissed. Please note I am unlikely to pick up emails on the class email account if you send it during teaching hours that day. Please inform the school office or let the class teacher know before the start of the school day, if possible.

If you have any questions, please  email us on:
